The Blogger somewhere on the Kenai Peninsula during the Summer of 2010.

I am currently a student at the University of Alaska – Fairbanks (UAF) persuing a B.A. in History with a minor in Philosophy. I originally began my job as “journalist” as a contracted freelance writer for first the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner and later the UAF Sun Star (our student paper). Since coming aboard the good ship Sun Star during the Spring Semester of 2010 I have become a full-time reporter and am also currently the papers distribution manager. It is a sweet suite life and I have fun doing it.

This blog will primarily be a “Dermot Cole-esque” piece of journalism that will focus on covering stories that may not find a voice in a contemporary news source. If what I do report on can be found elsewhere, then here is where you will find a different voice. A unique voice. My voice. I am writing this blog on behalf of the Sun Star, but am master to almost no man! Except my editor, Andrew Sheeler.

I will be updating at least three times a week so check back often. Hey, maybe even add me to your favorites page!
